The First Visit
Upon entering our office, our staff will greet you and welcome you as a member of our family. We will request you fill our patient forms located under the New Patient tab 24 hours before your scheduled appointment to allow us to be prepared for your consultation. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition. Please bring your current insurance card, driver's license, and payment method.
Your first visit is all about YOU! Please plan on being in our office for about 1 hour so the doctors can learn everything they need to know about you and your specific concerns.
Next you will have a consultation with one of the doctors to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your consultation is designed for the doctor to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine whether Back In Motion has treatments options suited for you. We will also discuss any fees before you incur any out of pocket costs.
If it is determine your condition may be helped with our services and you agree to proceed, an examination, including standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and spinal tests will be performed. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to get a full evaluation of your spine. X-rays help us rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you. Most people are amazed once they see their x-rays and can often immediately identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves. Ever heard "A picture is worth a thousand words"?
Report of Findings
Once all the information from tests performed has been collected, the doctor will have you schedule as soon as possible to answer the four most popular questions:
- Can you help me?
- What do you recommend that I do to get better?
- How long will it take to get better?
- How much is it going to cost?
After discussing your history and goals, examining your spine and reviewing any x-rays or tests, a doctor will discuss recommendations with you. If you have a condition that requires care with other providers, the doctor will make proper referrals. If the doctors believe that they are able to help you, they will recommend a course of treatment to help get you feeling better as soon as possible! You will be able to chose which type of care you prefer based on your condition and health goals.
Patients will generally be provided with their first spinal adjustment at the conclusion of their Report of findings appointment. Other services may be available on your first visit to help relieve pain and start your healing process. Treatments are based on you. You are an active participant in your care. We encourage you to express the treatments that interested you the most.
Home Care Recommendations
Prior to leaving, patients will be instructed on home care recommendations to aid in faster recovery. If you are in pain when you first come to our office, this may include, ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, home exercises and/or stretches.
